Santa Clara is a city in Santa Clara County, California. The city’s population is 116,468 as of the 2010 United States Census. Santa Clara is the site of Santa Clara University, the oldest institution of higher learning in the state of California. It is also home to Levi’s Stadium, the future home of Super Bowl 50 and the San Francisco 49ers. Santa Clara neighborhoods include Central Park, Drew Farm, Agnew, Rivermark, and others. Santa Clara is the eighth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area and one of the major cities comprising Silicon Valley. It is located 45 miles (72 km) southeast of San Francisco on the northern shore of San Francisco Bay. Santa Clara’s downtown skyline is dominated by museum, theater and convention center called the Santa Clara Convention-Visitors Bureau & Headquarters, plus a 12-story hotel. Santa Clara’s main street is El Camino Real, which runs north-south through the city. Santa Clara neighborhoods include Downtown Santa Clara, Old Quad, North Park, Centennial, and Rivermark. Downtown Santa Clara features Santa Clara University as well as hotels, restaurants, shopping, and businesses. The Santa Clara Convention-Visitors Bureau & Headquarters offers dining and shopping options as well as a museum and theater. North Park is home to Santa Clara High School while Centennial contains Santa Clara Middle School. Rivermark includes several parks along the Guadalupe River including Central Park, Plaza de Cesar Chavez, and St. James Park. There are also many corporate headquarters located in Santa Clara neighborhoods such as Intel, Applied Materials, Sun Microsystems, Yahoo!, Brocade Communications Systems, and Lockheed Martin cutters.
