Middle (6-8)

Cupertino schools rank among the highest in the nation for their graduation rates. In fact, according to the Department of Education, 95% of students graduate high school in four years. The National Average is 86%. But that doesn’t tell the whole story. There are some things you might not know about Cupertino schools.  For starters, it has a 96% Caucasian population, with just 4% being Asian-American, Hispanic, or African-American. This creates an environment where cultural understanding can be limited at best and completely absent at worst. Some parents believe this lack of diversity is a problem because they want their children to grow up with a global perspective and understand how others live their lives.

High (9-12) Schools

Cupertino is the home to some of the most prestigious high schools in the United States. These schools have something for everyone, from computer science courses that exceed the national average to a student body that exceeds diversity norms.  AP courses are offered at all but one of Cupertino’s high schools, with four offering AP Computer Science A. This is far above the national average; as many as 65% of US high schools only offer AP Computer Science AB or BC. Additionally, all but one of these schools are nationally ranked in the top 1% by US News & World Report.

Private Schools

Private schools in Cupertino, CA, offer many advantages over public schools. For one, private schools are not subject to the same standards as public schools, so they can focus more on teaching than standardized testing. Private schools also offer increased safety due to their smaller class sizes and higher teacher-to-student ratio. However, not all private schools are created equal. National Ranking places Montessori West Bay Area Academy at #10 among California’s best private elementary schools, with an API score of 1352 out of 1600 points. This is significantly higher than neighboring Redwood City’s Monte Vista School, which scores only 1089 out of 1600 points.

Montessori Schools

Montessori schools are becoming increasingly popular as more parents seek alternative educational options for their children. Montessori schools offer a unique educational experience based on the philosophy of Italian educator Maria Montessori. Montessori believed that children should be allowed to learn at their own pace and be given opportunities to explore their interests. As a result, Montessori schools typically have a student-centered approach, emphasizing hands-on learning.

Montessori schools are often a good fit for children who learn best through experience. In a Montessori classroom, students are free to move about and choose their activities. This allows them to learn in a way that best suits their individual needs and interests. Montessori schools also tend to have small class sizes, which allows for more individualized attention from teachers.

If you are considering a Montessori school for your child, it is important to research and visit several different schools to find the right fit. The best way to get a feel for a school is to observe it and talk to current parents and students. With so many great Montessori schools, you will surely find one perfect for your family!

Religious Schools

There are many reasons why parents might choose to send their children to religious schools. For some, it is a matter of faith; they want their children to receive religious education and be instilled with the same values they hold. For others, it may be a question of morals; they want their children to attend a school where positive role models will surround them and taught to make good choices. Parents who choose religious schools for their children can rest assured that they provide them with a quality education.

At religious schools, students receive an education that is grounded in faith. They learn about the principles of their religion and how to live according to those beliefs. In addition, they are exposed to the teachings of other faiths, which helps them to develop a respect for religious diversity. Religious schools also emphasize character development and service to others. As a result, students who attend these schools often grow into well-rounded, compassionate adults.

Religious schools offer an appealing option for parents seeking an alternative to public schools. With small classes and dedicated teachers, these schools provide an intimate learning environment where students can thrive. In addition, the focus on moral development and service learning helps to prepare students for success in all aspects of life. Whether for reasons of faith or morality, parents who send their children to religious schools can be confident that they are making a sound investment in their child’s future.
