Herbert Hoover Middle School is a public middle school in San Jose, California. The school is part of the East Side Union High School District and serves grades six through eight. As of the 2014-15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,310 students and 70.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 18.7:1. There were 304 students (23.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 81 (6.2% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch. The school was named after President Herbert Hoover. The mission of Herbert Hoover Middle School is to provide each student with a quality education in a safe and nurturing environment where all individuals are respected, valued, and inspired to achieve their highest potential.
