Considering a Move to Campbell California?

Considering a Move to Campbell California?Home to over 42,000 residents, Campbell California is the home to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Pruneyard Shopping Center, a prominent, 250,000 sq. ft. open-air center built in the 1960s.  The city has seen plenty of changes over the years, primarily because of its inclusion in the Silicon Valley area. Nestled in the Southwest area of Santa Clara Valley, the city is bisected by Highway 17, which passes through Eastern Campbell with Highway 85 to the south. The little historical downtown area sits just west of the railroad and the southwest area is known as the San Tomas neighborhood, which offers different home styles and oversized lots.

This hipster part of Silicon Valley offers a variety of things to do, restaurants to explore, and a vibrant nightlife scene. However, while part of Silicon Valley, it's not actually considered part of the tech scene. There are a few major headquarters and start-ups that have originated in Campbell such as eBay, however, this is quite minimal compared to neighboring cities and towns.

That's not to say that Campbell isn't a vibrant, fantastic place to live, work, and play. There are different neighborhoods throughout Campbell broken down into retail, residential, and industrial. The downtown Campbell area is home to most of the shopping, nightclubs, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and bistros. In surrounding areas are several parks and recreational activities and of course, there's the industrial side and the residential side. One good thing is that lightrail connects Campbell to neighboring San Jose and other major players in the Silicon Valley, making it ideal for those that commute to some of the other cities and towns that may have better options in the tech job market.

Campbells Schools

Considering a Move to Campbell California?Campbell belongs to two public school districts, the Campbell Union Elementary School District and the Campbell Union High School District. The schools located within the city are Campbell middle school, Capri Elementary, Rosemary elementary, village school, and Westmont high school. The Forest Hill elementary school is half in Campbell with a total of 19 elementary schools, nine Campbell middle schools, three Campbell high schools, and 28 Campbell preschools. There are several private schools in Campbell as well but no higher education, universities, or colleges within the city limits.

Some of the top-rated schools include Village elementary, which is located close to the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 85 just off of Winchester Boulevard. This is primarily in the San Tomas neighborhood and most homes in San Tomas are zoned for this elementary school. The Forest Hill elementary school also receives top marks and is located just north of San Tomas in the Bucknall neighborhood, which is also home to the Westmont high school.

Things to Do in Campbell

While Silicon Valley is chocked full of events, activities, festivals, and things to do, you don't have to venture far from home for great entertainment and things to do. Right in town is the same as Campbell's Farmers Market at E. Campbell Ave. You'll find a great selection of local produce, meats, cheeses, and artists from around the area and is one of the most popular farmers markets in Silicon Valley and the South Bay area.Campbell CA Heritage Theater

The Pruneyard is one of the major icons in Campbell. This open-air shopping center offers a variety of shops and restaurants, coffee houses and bars making it an ideal one-stop destination. It is the ideal representative of Campbell and a destination for many Silicon Valley residents.

The famous Ainsley House is also a Campbell landmark. This iconic historical Museum is owned by the city of Campbell and presents the history and pioneer beginnings of the area. But it's not the only historical feature in Campbell. The Heritage Theater has long been viewed as a significant architectural and historical resource throughout the Santa Clara Valley originally built in 1938. It's a unique place to experience state-of-the-art sound and lighting with a historical backdrop.

The Pruneyard is not the only shopping in Campbell. There are plenty of antique shops, specialty shops and gift shops, wine bars, breweries, massage and salon options, sports bars and both fine dining and casual restaurants. There's a little something for everyone and if you can't find it in Campbell, you are no more than 5 to 10 minutes from just about everything you want throughout the Silicon Valley area.
